Summer is just around the corner, so here are some recommendations of whites, sparklers, and rosés, mainly from Napa Valley, that should hit the spot.
Generally speaking, the caliber of whites—especially Chardonnays and Sauvignon-based wines—from Napa has gone from strength to strength. 2020 was a challenging vintage for the reds from northern California, but it’s a great year for whites. And the 2021s that are already hitting the market are looking gorgeous. Also included are a few red wines, including the 2020 Vine Hill Ranch VHR Cabernet Sauvignon, the new releases from Salvestrin, and En Garde. (BTW, a dedicated Salvestrin article and vertical tasting is in the pipeline.)
More great wines will be added to this article next week, so watch this space.
